This article is concerned with an optimal harvesting problem for a system of hierarchical populations with predator-prey interaction. The existence of optimal solutions is established by relative compactness and maximizing sequences, and an adjoint system and tangent-normal cones are employed to describe the optimal policies.
In addition, a numerical method and an example are presented.
